About
Walker Cody (B.F.A. Film & TV 2022) is a southern-based photographer and filmmaker whose work engages with the cultural complexities of Appalachia, focusing on the music, family dynamics, shifting identity, and environmental relations of the region.
Primarily pursuing intimate stories told in real, often rural locations, he thrives on the physical and emotional relationship that the camera demands between artist and subject.
His passion for photography and filmmaking can be directly attributed to his parents, whom he joined at a young age as they hiked and photographed national and state parks across the U.S. That passion continues to grow as he relies on the camera as a tool of memory and celebration, capturing scenes both in his backyard and abroad.
Walker holds a B.F.A. in Film & TV Production from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He currently lives in Savannah, GA, where he works on the photo team in SCAD's Visual Media Department.
